I’d do anything to stand on this piece of concrete right now.

goodbye, river court. you were more than just a piece of concrete. you were home to laughter, tears, memories, friends, and a bigger family then we could all have hoped for. you made dreams come true every single day.
the landmark is called the river court and for those who loved it, it’s absence will be heart breaking. it’s been host to authors, nba players, local legends, and fashion designers. notable musicians have played here, both concerts and games of horse. and on gentle summer nights, as the staccato rhythms of worn leather on fading asphalt mixes with the white noise of the distant night life across the cape fear, kids have grown up here. i should know, i was one of them. the truth is, a town’s identity is made up of places like this one. once they’re gone, they’re gone. a lot of lost kids found their way to something better in this park. in a confusing world, at a confusing time in their lives, they found something that made sense here. and they became better people because of it. surely, that is worth preserving.

UMMMMMMMMM I am so investing in making one of these shirts but putting the appropriate quote on it, “Good evening ladies and gentleman and welcome to another historic night of basketball.” YES. PERFECTION.
edit: I like when I google the quote it brings up my Foursquare check in at the River Court. WAH.
Also should I use “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome an historic night of basketball.”
or
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to another historic night of basketball.”
Both are said by Mouth. HMMM.
I love this photo so much. Right in the middle, in gray, you can see Dan Scott playing his very last game of basketball ever with Nathan. That was also Paul’s last scene, and one of the last times they filmed at the River Court. SO MANY EMOTIONS GOING THROUGH ME.
really like this shot.

Best River Court Tribute Video.
RIP, River Court..
I want to watch this, but I know I can’t. I have to leave for work soon and going into work crying my eyes out would not be okay. Nope. Ill save it for later.

“You make this, and the River Court stays like this forever.”
I just feel like this post is relevant again. :( I want to cry my little eyes out every time I think about this place being gone.

How depressing is it that in my tagged River Court post, these two are back to back. If I would of know then that they would be tearing it down just a month later, I would have never left.
missyouforever
I can’t believe it. They are actually tearing it down. I didn’t think they would. So terribly horrible.
ONE WEEK!! I can’t believe it.
